Professor Mahavir Singh has been distinguished as one of the top 2 percent of scientists globally in the 2024 Stanford University rankings, specifically in the field of Applied Physics (Material Science). This recognition underscores his substantial contributions to Magnetic Nano Technology and an honor to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla.
With over 12 years of dedicated research, Professor Singh has explored innovative applications of Magnetic Nano Technology in the Green Energy sector, particularly for electric vehicles, and in communications, focusing on GHz frequency range antenna miniaturization. His work also enhances the activity of biological cells and enzymes, fostering safer and more effective medical applications. The eco-friendly, biocompatible, and biodegradable qualities of Magnetic Nano Technology position it as a sustainable choice for energy, communication, and healthcare solutions.
In response to the increasing demand for efficient materials in electric motors, Professor Singh is pioneering the replacement of costly and rare magnetic materials with readily available ferrites, which are abundant both in India and worldwide. This transition addresses material scarcity while promoting sustainable technological practices.
Professor Singh’s collaborative efforts with renowned institutions such as Brest University (France), King Abdullah University (Saudi Arabia), and Dundee University (UK) further enhance his research impact. He has successfully guided 25 PhD students, many of whom are now contributing significantly in top institutions globally.
Numerous research scholars under his supervision have presented their findings at prestigious international conferences across the USA, Brazil, the UK, Italy, Japan, France, and Spain.
The high-quality research conducted at Himachal Pradesh University, in partnership with leading Indian institutes like IUAC New Delhi, BARC Mumbai, and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, has played a pivotal role in achieving this honor.
