Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh awarded winners of
State Level Painting Competition organized by SJVN.

The Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla presided as Chief Guest of the State Level Painting Competition organized by SJVN at Shimla for the students of the schools in Himachal Pradesh. The State Level Painting Competition was organised under National Campaign on Energy Conservation 2024 of Ministry of Power, Govt of India.
Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) of SJVN, along with senior officials warmly welcomed the Hon’ble Governor Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla and his wife Smt. Janaki Shukla upon their arrival at SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla.
The Hon’ble Governor along with his wife Smt. Janaki Shukla viewed the award-winning paintings displayed at Exhibition Gallery. He congratulated the students for exhibiting outstanding artistic talent and effectively expressing the theme in the paintings. He also commended the collective endeavours of students, teachers, parents and SJVN in promoting awareness for energy conservation.
The Hon’ble Governor presented First, Second and Third Prizes of Rs 50,000/-, Rs 30,000/- and Rs. 20,000/- respectively for Group A (Class 5th, 6th & 7th) and Group B (Class 8th, 9th & 10th). Smt. Janaki Shukla presented ten Consolation Prizes of Rs 7,500/- for each category. All the participants were given mementoes and participation amount of Rs 2000/- each as a token of appreciation for their contribution to advancing the cause of energy conservation.
On this occasion, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) stated that SJVN has effectively partnered with Ministry of Power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, State Government, State Education Department and other entities since 2005 as the Nodal agency for Himachal Pradesh to ensure the success of this National Campaign. This year, 2,10,936 students of 4,794 schools across 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh participated in School Level Painting Competition organized by SJVN, which was the first phase of the campaign.
From School Level Painting Competition, 55 best paintings from each category were selected by an eminent jury of experts. The selected student then participated in the State Level Painting Competition, which was the second phase of the competition. The common theme for both the categories was ‘Protect Nature’s Gifts, Embrace Sustainable Shifts’ and ‘You have the power to save the power’.
In the third and final phase, the First, Second & Third prize winners of the State Level Painting Competition in both categories will compete in the National Level Painting Competition at New Delhi on 11th December 2024. The Painting Competition is organized under the aegis of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India.
