Yesterday, on 26/04/2024, the office of Superintendent of Police, Keylong, received confidential information regarding illegal liquor trade at Chandra Dhaba Lohani, owned by Sunita, w/o Shri Shiv Lal, R/o vill. Batisputli, Anchal Bagmati, district Kathmandu. Acting swiftly, the SI/SHO Mukul Sharma was instructed to assemble a raiding team and conduct a raid at the specified location.
A joint raiding team, comprising personnel from Police Station Udaipur and Police Post Tindi, under the leadership of SHO PS Udaipur, executed the operation. Upon searching the premises of the dhaba, approximately 10,000 ml of illegal liquor was seized. Furthermore, an illegal furnace used for the production of illicit liquor was discovered in close proximity to the dhaba. Mayank Chaudhary,IPS
Superintendent of Police District Lahaul &Spiti further stated that prompt action was taken by the raiding party to dismantle the furnace.
A case FIR No. 12/24 has been registered against the individual involved under section 39(1)a of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act 2011 at Police Station Udaipur.
