SHIMLA: In a significant move, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to withdraw the temporary deferment of salaries for the Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
According to an official notification issued today by the General Administration Department (Parliamentary Affairs), the deferred salary amounts will now be reimbursed to the lawmakers.
Key Highlights of the Notification
Salary Restoration: The deferment of salaries for the Deputy CM, Council of Ministers, Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and all MLAs has been officially withdrawn.
Arrears Clearance: The previously deferred salary amounts will be paid out along with the salaries for the month of June 2026, payable in July 2026.

Chief Minister’s Salary: The temporary 50 percent salary deferment for the Chief Minister will continue as per the earlier notification dated April 18, 2026, until further orders.
Official Order Details
The order, issued in partial modification of the previous notification dated April 18, 2026, was executed by the order of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh under the signatures of Chief Secretary Kamlesh Kumar Pant and Joint Secretary (GAD) Kulvinder Singh.
The Governor, Himachal Pradesh, in exercise of the powers conferred by article 162 read with article 166 of the Constitution of India, is pleased to withdraw the deferment of salary… and the deferred amount shall be paid along with the salary of June, 2026, payable in July, 2026,” the official notification stated.Copies of the notification have been forwarded to the Secretary to the Governor, Private Secretaries to the CM and Ministers, the HP Vidhan Sabha Secretary, and the accounts department for immediate necessary action.
