Vibrant Village Program helps in increasing pace of development: Shukla

Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla on his three day visit to Kinnaur district has visited Nako and Leo villages under the Vibrant Village program on Monday and interacted with the villagers. Lady Governor Smt. Janaki Shukla also accompanied him.
While interacting with the villagers of Leo, the Governor said that 55 villages of Kinnaur district have been included in the Vibrant Village Programme where various schemes were being implemented to speed up the pace of development. “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had also requested him to visit the border villages called as Vibrant Villages. I had decided to visit these areas but due to heavy rains in the recent past I had to postpone my tour. Now, I have come here so that I can interact with you”, said Shukla. He said that the Union Government was providing infrastructural facilities in such villages.
Shukla said that every possible effort would be made to resolve the road related demands of the local people. “If there are no objections of the Honorable Court regarding Nautod and Forest Rights Act, then efforts will be made to resolve the matters through talks at the appropriate level so that people can get due benefits”, said the Governor.
On reaching Leo village, the Governor visited the exhibition of local produce put up by Fulsum Khandi and Nirup Self Help Group under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Earlier, Ms Torul Ravish, Deputy Commissioner, Kinnaur welcomed the Governor and informed about the activities being implemented in these areas.
Namgyul Kumar, Pradhan, Leo welcomed the Governor and apprised him about the local problems.
Earlier, the Governor visited Nako village and interacted with the people. He also listened to their problems.
On the occasion, the Governor said that culture has kept the people together even in adverse circumstances. He said that Himachal is a State of culture and every village has a rich culture. That is why it is also called Devbhoomi.
He said that development in border villages is being ensured under the Vibrant Village Program. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called the last village of the country the first village.
On the occasion, representatives of Hangrang Rinchen Buddhist Cultural Heritage Institute welcomed the Governor. The Governor and Lady Governor visited the monastery established here and also took round of village. He also visited Nako Lake.
Shri Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to the Governor, Shri Vivek Chahal, Superintendent of Police and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
