Students of RKMV Shimla were warmly welcomed into the new academic session on 8th July 2025 by Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena.This address marked the beginning of four-days interactive and familiarizing sessions, concluding on 11th July 2025, reaching to students of all years.
Setting a positive tone for the year ahead, the address started with an acknowledgement and congratulations to all the merit holders who have secured positions in Himachal Pradesh University merit list.
Dr. Saxena outlined the key expectations and initiatives of the college, encouraging students to:
Regularly check the notice boards for important updates
Limit mobile phone usage to designated areas to ensure academic focus
Maintain campus cleanliness, especially toilet hygiene
She also highlighted academic and co-curricular initiatives such as:
Value-added courses (compulsory for all)
Star batches and remedial classes for diverse learning needs
Compulsory library hours to inculcate reading habits
A vibrant GK Club to promote knowledge
Environmental responsibility remains a priority, with initiatives like:
Plastic-free campus
“Selfie with a Tree”, a tree plantation drive & campaign
Student welfare also found a strong mention, through:
The Care and Share initiative for needy students
A newly formed Anti Drug Club to spread awareness on substance abuse
Students were urged to actively participate in various clubs and societies to make their journey at RKMV fulfilling and holistic.
