Submits Annual Report; Detailed Discussion Held on Transparency, Good Governance and Public Interest Issues

Justice (Retd.) Chander Bhushan Barowalia, the Lokayukta of Himachal Pradesh, called on the Governor, Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan today.
On the occasion, Justice (Retd.) Chander Bhushan Barowalia presented the Annual Report of the Lokayukta Office to the Governor and held detailed discussions on the functioning of institution and various matters related to public interest.
The Governor stressed the significant role of the Lokayukta institution in a democratic system. He said that it plays a vital role in strengthening transparency, accountability and good governance. He expressed confidence that the Lokayukta institution would continue to discharge its responsibilities effectively with fairness, transparency and public trust in the future as well.
Justice (Retd.) Barowalia expressed gratitude to the Governor and assured that the Lokayukta institution is fully committed to the prompt, impartial, and effective redressal of grievances of the common people and would continue to discharge its duties with utmost dedication.
