Department of Chemistry, Himachal Pradesh University, today organized a one-day seminar on “Inspiring and Motivating Job Creators for Tomorrow.” The seminar was inaugurated by Sh. Ramesh Verma, Joint Director, Directorate of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh.


Eminent industrialists and academicians including Dr. H.S. Cheema, Chairman, Cheema Boilers Ltd.; Prof. Narender Singh from IIT Ropar; and Mr. Mohit Sharma, Founder of Taste and Heal–Organic Mushrooms, Shimla, graced the event as resource persons. They shared their inspiring journeys and emphasized how today’s students can transform into successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
Dr. Cheema narrated his motivational story of starting his business with just ₹10,000 and rising to become a millionaire. Prof. Narender Singh encouraged chemistry students to explore consultancy and industry-oriented projects. The resource persons also had an interactive session with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh, discussing potential collaborations between the University and industries. The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude to Dr. Cheema and Mr. Sharma for their willingness to support and handhold upcoming university projects.
The seminar began with a welcome address by Dr. Sandeep Chauhan. Faculty members including Prof. Baljit Singh, Dr. Jasvir Singh, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Nisha Sharma, Dr. Ramesh Thakur, Dr. Sunil, Dr. Vikrant, Dr. Mridula, Dr. Rajesh, and Dr. Santosh were also present during the session. The event concluded with an interactive discussion encouraging innovation, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurial mindset among students.
